Kayindy Lake
The most beautiful, fascinating and breathtaking lake in the world is hidden in 40 km from Almaty city in Kazakhstan. A sapphire lake surrounded by mountain forests dappled in sunlight, fields sprinkled with wild strawberries and dancing flowers and the sweet scent of vanilla permeating the air.
The secret of its unique beauty is in its origin. In the distant year of 1911, on January 4, a strong earthquake occurred in the mountains of Kungei Alatau. A huge landslide created a dam and blocked the mountain river. The gorge and the centuries-old Tanshan firs that grew on its slopes were flooded with water. So nature and created this beautiful lake at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level
The trip to Kolsai and Kayindy lakes is the most memorable in the life of all visitors who had already been there.
